Right Scan Right Time Joins 65 Patient Groups Urging CMS to Create a More Robust Medical Technology Breakthrough Rule
Right Scan Right Time, along with 65 other patient groups, sent a letter to Administrator Oz at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), encouraging CMS to create a more robust Medicare reimbursement pathway for breakthrough medical technology and make these advances more accessible to all Americans.
Current initiatives, such as the Transitional Coverage of Emerging Technologies (TCET) program, fall short when it comes to providing consistent access to breakthrough technologies. Having an improved breakthrough rule would allow for more streamlined coverage of life-changing advanced medical tools and approved devices.
Breakthrough technologies can improve medical imaging interpretation and diagnostic accuracy while also alleviating administrative burdens for physicians. By removing regulatory obstacles, a more sustainable and predictable breakthrough rule would enhance patient access to cutting-edge care and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
