RSRT Joins 22 Groups to Support Expanded Access to AI Medical Technology

Recently, Right Scan Right Time joined with 22 other patient advocacy groups in signing a letter to Senators Heinrich and Rounds demonstrating patient support for the Health Tech Investment Act (S.1399). This bipartisan legislation addresses the critical need to establish a clear and consistent payment pathway for improving patients’ access to FDA-authorized devices that utilize artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

Since these AI-enabled medical devices can assist providers in diagnosing and treating medical conditions more accurately and earlier, patient groups emphasize the bill’s potential to enhance treatment decision-making and improve patient outcomes. However, the adoption of AI in medical imaging will be hindered without consistent reimbursement and payment predictability. For many patients, particularly those dependent on Medicare, these benefits may not be accessible without a clear payment pathway for providers.

Instead, the letter advocates that lawmakers ensure these innovative technologies reach all patients and physicians by passing this legislation to improve access to this cutting-edge care.

Right Scan Right Time recognizes the growing role of AI in healthcare and is proud to join these patient groups in advocating for every patient’s access to the most advanced care options possible. Please join us in supporting the Health Tech Investment Act by sending your own letter to Congress here.
