Michelle Beck Shares Patient Advocacy Journey

Michelle Beck, patient advocate and breast cancer survivor, recently sat down with Right Scan Right Time to share more about her patient advocacy journey and participation in training workshops, which provide new patient advocates with the tools they need to share their patient story with policymakers.

Michelle advocated on Capitol Hill during RSRT’s 2024 fly-in event in Washington D.C. and also recently participated in our virtual advocacy academy. The training, she says, has helped her, “refine my story to go in [to lawmaker offices] and tell them this is who I am, this is what I’ve been through.”

RSRT training sessions helped Michelle turn her personal experiences into persuasive advocacy – helping policymakers understand the real-world impact of timely and accurate medical imaging.

Her message to others? Every voice matters. 

“If I can give a few minutes of my time every so often, it’s well worth it,” she concluded. “If we don’t do it, no one is going to do it for us.”
